Premenstrual syndrome is defined as faulty function of the ovaries related to the women's menstrual cycle, it effects a women's physical and emotional state, and sometimes interferes with daily activities as a result of hormone fluctuation. I. Definition
Cinnamon
is a small evergreen tree belonging to the family and is native to Sri Lanka. It has been used in traditional medicine in treating loss of appetite and other kidney related diseases.

II. How Chinese herbs Cinnamon bark (rou gui) effects women with PMS.
In Chinese medicine cinnamon is used to treat deficient kidney yang & qi and alleviate pain due to blood/qi .
1. Antispasmodic
Cinnamon is a strong anti spamodic medicine, it helps to calm the over active muscles din the body due to blood and qi stagnation ( over production in certain hormone in the prostaglandins hormone )in the abdominal region resulting in lessening the risk of abdominal pain and cramps for some women with PMS.
